Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia has proclaimed as Best Manager for this year’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence for his many achievements, contributions and initiatives in pushing the region forward as where it is today.
Yearly, the DSWD honors its best managers, technical workers, and administrative support staff through the PRAISE awards. The PRAISE awards usually given during the DSWD Anniversary celebration are accorded to officials and employees who have rendered outstanding performance in their respective jobs.

The Department has recorded 19,438 Day Care Children enrolled in the different Day Care Centers in the Region of which the Supplementary Feeding has served until the last quarter of 2011. Out of this number, 4,945 are Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries who are from sets 1-4 areas. These 100 core shelter family beneficiaries are from two flood prone barangays of Sotero Nuesa and San Placido whose houses were totally destroyed by Typhoon Juan in 2010. |

In response to the calling of Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman to all DSWD Field Offices for staff compliment for Field Office X-Cagayan de Oro City in the on-going relief and rehabilitation efforts in Mindanao, DSWD Field Office 02 headed by Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia immediately deployed a team composed of five (5) Social Workers trained and expert in Psychosocial Processing, disaster management, relief and operations and stress debriefing of victims of calamities for augmentation support. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 02 has urged students who are about to conduct research to focus on topics in relation to social services and protection in support to the 5-year research agenda of the department. Angely M. Lubo, Regional Information Officer, said the social welfare department is looking for student researches that could help them in the conduct of studies on social protection and services, which will eventually lead to the identification of the pressings needs and issues of the people in a certain community. |
